Solanki and Lt Col BS Sandhu honored the women
Women
are the foundation stone of the society and WWICS Group is taking the opportunity
to commemorate some noble women who are devoting their time and energy
selflessly towards the society. The Women Achievers Award of WWICS Group
recognizes the achievement that some of the women have been making in the field
of social service.
It
was an occasion of immense value as over 400 people gathered to celebrate
womanhood. Hon Governor Punjab & Haryana, Kaptan Singh Solanki was the
chief guest for the occasion. He was welcomed by Lt Col BS Sandhu, CMD, WWICSGroup, who expressed his gratitude to all the dignitaries and awardees.
Among
the women who were honored at the event were Flight Lieutenant Nazia Nadaf from
the Indian Air Force, RJ Meenakshi, Social Activists Amarjit Dhillon, Raji
Kakkaria, Mona Khatar, Sonal Kapoor RJ Meenakshi, Blood Donor Jaswant Kaur and
others.

Rai Khanna, MP, Gen. BKN Chhibber (Retd.) Former Governor, Punjab, Joginder
Singh, Former CBI Director, A.S. Chatha, Former Chief Secretary, Punjab, J.S.
Ahluwalia, Former Chief Commissioner, Income Tax, Vineet Joshi, Asstt. Media
Adviser to CM, Punjab, Kuljit Sidhu, IAS (Retd.), Prof. Kuldip Singh Dhindsa
were some of the present dignitaries among many others.
The
women were honored by the Hon Governor Punjab & Haryana, Kaptan Singh
Solanki and WWICS CMD Lt Col BS Sandhu.

Commenting
on the event, Hon Governor Punjab & Haryana, Kaptan Singh Solanki said, “I
believe that women are the true pillars of the society. I feel proud to be here
to meet some noble women who are working for the society in their own special
ways. We are doing well in advancing women in business and in the workplace.
However, our responsibility goes beyond that. We have to provide an improved
quality of life for women in informal settlements, rural villages and townships.”
