Major Changes Expected in Canada’s Immigration System

Canada promised to bring 300,000 new faces to the country and now the government of Canada is working towards realizing as to what it aimed for. In recent announcement made by John McCallum, minister of immigration, refugees and citizenship, the government of Canada is planning to revamp the process of immigration and make it more streamlined.

McCallum had visited the Peel region when he made the big announcement. Earlier, the government of Canada had asked for the views from the general public as to what sort of changes they would like to see in the immigration policies.

At the time of the election campaign of 2015, the Liberal Party had proposed that, if brought to power, they will make fresh changes to the immigration process. The consultation process has now been started by the government to bring these changes into effect.

Discussions are going on between stakeholders and members of the local parliament in Mississauga and Brampton on the final outlook of the immigration policies. The top priority in the changes that are being proposed is to speed up the process of family class immigration to Canada.

As per the present rules, it takes nearly 2 years before a family visa is granted, which is way too long for families to stay away from each other. By reducing this gap, the government will make it easy for families to reunite with their family members.

The present immigration system faced by the government has many concerns at present and efforts are being made to fine tune it and efficient. Changes are also expected to come in skilled and family class Canada visa, along with visitor visa and economic visa category, during the coming fall season.

There is good news for students who wish to study and finally settle in Canada, as the government of Canada is proposing to make it easier for international students to become a permanent resident of Canada.
The doors have been opened up wide apart by the Canada government to come and settle in Canada. Come to WWICS and know how you can apply to settle in Canada permanently.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull of Australia recently mentioned that the immigration policy followed by the country is non-discriminatory and there will no changes in it in future. Kruger had mentioned that she personally believes that the article published by Andrew Bolt has a point and there is a direct link between terrorist attacks and the number of Muslims in a given country. She called for Australian government to take appropriate actions to secure the borders of the country.

WWICS Resorts Liquor License Restored After 12 Years

No matter how hard the odds are against, victory comes to those who keep fighting. It may take time, but the results will ultimately get in. After fighting for a decade and two years, WWICS Resorts Private Limited has been granted the L-12-C liquor license by a bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The Forest Hill Golf and Country Club Resort are owned by WWICS Resorts Private Limited and it is located in Mohali district at karoran village. Back in January 2004, The High Court made the ruling on grounds of violation of environmental laws. The decision was taken based on media reports and findings from Union Ministry of Environment and Forests.

The resort is owned by Lt Col (retd) B S Sandhu and is spread across 378 acres. The case was handed over to CBI later on. The petitioner had approached the High Court with the plea that the resort is not located on forest land, putting out the reason that since numerous players come in to participate in the game of golf so its liquor license should be restored.

The counsel that presented the case on behalf of the resort reasoned that the petitioner company did not revoked any rule or environmental clause as the resort has been established only in the non-forest area.

Proof was presented that the area has already been demarcated and identified by various departments. The CBI investigation has not come to a conclusion yet even after 12 years which it commenced in 2004.
The divisional bench which comprised of Justice A B Chaudhri and M Jeyapaul ordered that the petitoner’s legitimate right to have the license cannot be denied and the authorities were asked to grant the license with two working days.
