Immigration New Zealand has recently come out with a revelation that a large number of students who have come from India obtained their study visa by showing fake financial documents. This has lead to an investigation in the visa applications that have been submitted by new aspiring students.
Immigration New Zealand has also known to have deported a large
number of international students because of the fake documents shown by them.
Geoff Scott, assistant general manager at the department stated that students
applying for New Zealand study visa
have to show proof of finances that indicating that they can support themselves
while they study there.
Scott went on to mention that, it
is not yet known as to what is the scale of the problem but believes that a
large number of students have entered the country through fraudulent means.
This is unwelcome news for
students who are in the process of applying for student visa for New Zealand. Due to the wrong doings of some
students, all the students who are applying for New Zealand student visa will
be put under deep scrutiny.
The situation that has been
created by this fake representation of documents is a sorry one as a number of
students have been left with no money at all. In some cases the loan is on them
and in other cases the loan is on their family.
Scott also stated that he has
seen nearly a dozen students who were fighting against their deportation and
all of them have the same story. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be
done to save them. They lied to the immigration department and it is a crime
for which they have to face consequences.
